Low-growing goldfields, a member of the sunflower family, bloom between March and May on Bernal Hill, carpeting a rocky bluff near the top of the hill with bright yellow flowers. They are annuals found from Oregon to California, from along the coast to the foothills. They are popular with pollinators and are easily grown from seeds.
