Insects account for 80% of animal life on earth but their numbers have decreased so rapidly in recent years that scientists are calling the phenomenon a global Insect Apocalypse. Without healthy bug populations all the other animals including humans will suffer dire consequences. It’s important now more than ever to restore habitat and grow locally evolved plants to help them survive. Native plants support many more species of insects that non-natives and by recreating the habitat that was once here insects can thrive and as the animals that depend on them can survive too.
